Today is the Start of National Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week

30 Days of Teal: Day 28

From OCNA: Today marks the start of National Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week. Did you know these two diseases are linked, especially for women with mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Not sure if you might have a mutation? The CDC offers a free tool through the Know:BRCA website, as well as resources an information on breast and ovarian cancer. Click the plus sign for a link to the website.
Visit the Know:BRCA website to learn about the BRCA genes and access your risk. Today’s action is proudly sponsored by Myriad.

This is only fitting as September draws to a close, and we go into October which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We Women of Teal and Pink have a friendly rivalry, yet we must not lose sight of the fact that we are sisters.

Being BRCA 1 myself, and also having 2 sisters who had breast cancer, plus my mother with ovarian cancer, I also recommend visiting
FORCE  for more information regarding hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for helping to raise awareness,

Love,
Dixie
